A dynamic midfield star is keen on a move to Man Utd if Chelsea decide to sell him, while Everton have bid £26million in their efforts to sign a new centre-back, according to Thursday’s transfer gossip.
CHELSEA ACE KEEN ON UNITED MOVE
The France international has been linked with a shock switch to Old Trafford, as his future under Frank Lampard remains in the balance.
The 29-year-old has rumoured to return to his native France.
The Athletic journalist David Ornstein does not believe that the player will end up leaving Chelsea this summer.
But should a move happen, Kante would prefer a stay in the Premier League due to the fact he is settled in England.
“I don’t think we should be getting too excited about the prospect of N’Golo Kante signing for Manchester United before the deadline. I don’t think he’ll be leaving Chelsea full stop,” he told the Tifo Podcast.
“Before the window, it was relayed to me that if Kante was to depart Stamford Bridge, then Old Trafford might be a potential destination for him.
“Why? When a player of such quality – even at the age of 29 – becomes available, there are very few major clubs who wouldn’t at least consider him, especially in that crucial holding midfield role.
“Then, there’s his relationship with Paul Pogba, they’re close friends and won the World Cup together with France.
“However, there’s no evidence that he’s available.
“I don’t see N’Golo Kante leaving Stamford Bridge, I don’t see him joining Manchester United and I don’t think they’ve even been in the market for that precise position in this transfer window.”
Kante’s midfield partner Jorginho has also been linked with a move away this summer, as the Blues continue to chase a deal for West Ham’s Declan Rice.
