Thomas Tuchel has refused to comment on speculation linking Chelsea with moves for Erling Haaland and Sergio Aguero as the club consider their centre-forward options this summer.

Haaland is currently the most discussed player in world football with the Borussia Dortmund star being courted by a succession of Europe’s leading clubs, the 20-year-old’s agent, Mino Raiola, having been in Spain this week for discussions with Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool have also been linked with bringing the player to the Premier League this summer, with Dortmund having reportedly set a price-tag of £128m for the Norwegian who has scored 49 goals in just 49 appearances since moving to Germany.

Haaland’s future looks set to be the saga of the summer with Dortmund apparently prepared to cash in on the club’s prized asset, given the financial difficulties of the coronavirus pandemic and the increasing prospect of the Bundesliga side missing out on the Champions League.

Chelsea are amongst the few clubs in world football with the financial power to secure a deal, though Tuchel has refused to expand on speculation linking the Norway international with a move to Stamford Bridge.

“There is big news around him and his agent. It seems like they are creating a race for the player and I will fully accept this a player for Borussia Dortmund, a promising player of course.” Tuchel told his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s clash with West Brom.

“He isn’t our player and is not in our squad.”

Chelsea have also been linked with a move for Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero, who announced this week he will be leaving the club at the end of the season after a decade of success at the Etihad.

Aguero is City’s all-time record goalscorer with 257 goals and recent reports have suggested he is keen to remain in the Premier League, raising the prospect of a move to Chelsea.

Tuchel has described the 32-year-old as a ‘world-class player’ but respectfully refused to discuss the possibility of a summer move for the Argentina international.

“There is no words needed for me about the achievements of this guy, he is a world-class player.” Tuchel said when discussing Aguero.

“We have three competitions in which we are in with Manchester City so I will not speak about their player.”
