PSG chief speaks out over Neymar amid fresh Barcelona return links

Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo was this evening drawn on the future of star man Neymar, amid fresh speculation surrounding a potential return to Barcelona.

PSG exit?

The last couple of days have of course seen reports begin to mount that a Camp Nou comeback could be on the cards for Neymar this summer.

First, it was suggested that the world’s most expensive player is eyeing up a reunion with the Blaugrana, ahead of the expiration of his contract in the French capital in 2022.

In turn, those in a position of power in Catalunya placed their former wide-man at the top of the club’s wishlist for the coming transfer window.

Not only that, but, according to French outlet RAC1, first contact has already been made on the part of the board at the Camp Nou, who could offer up a number of players in part exchange for Neymar.

This of course comes amid fresh hope that Lionel Messi is set to put to bed the long-standing uncertainty surrounding his future, by committing to fresh terms with Barcelona.

‘Look calmly…’

In turn, after being spotted by the waiting media this evening, it came as little surprise when PSG chief Leonardo was drawn on the subject of Neymar’s future with the club.

After making the trip to Barcelona for the women’s Champions League semi-final at the Johan Cruyff stadium, the Brazilian took a brief moment to speak with reporters at the El Prat airport.

First, Leonardo was keen to simply highlight his disappointment with PSG’s defeat at the hands of Barca:

‘I came to see the women’s team today — and unfortunately we lost.’

When pressed on the potential contract renewal of his fellow countryman at the Parc des Princes, though, the Parisians’ chief eventually gave in, albeit whilst remaining altogether coy on the subject:

‘We have to look at everything calmly.’
