Arsenal first bid for Buendia rejected
With Martin Odegaard returning to Real Madrid, Arsenal are on the lookout for a for an alternative attacking midfielder.
They appear to have settled on the Norwich City talismanic figure of Emi Buendia.
It is said that both Arsenal and Aston Villa I’ve already had a bid in the region of 30 million rejected as it is reported talks continued after the submission.
I’m told there’s ‘no rush’ for a deal to get done and Buendia remains focused on his national team duties.
Aston Villa have also made an offer for Buendia and talks will continue with Norwich over the coming days. #AFC

Buendia is currently away with his international side for the first time after getting a call up thanks to his stellar season in the Championship.
Arsenal go in again
Arsenal however are not waiting around and have already submitted a second improved bid said to be in the region of £35 million.
The threat of competing with Villa for the Argentine has clearly accelerated the Gunners’ plans to bring him in.
It is thought that Buendia is an attraction to Arsenal because he can play a multiple positions and would not block the path of the young Emile Smith Rowe.
Smith-Rowe flourished in the second half of the season as a number 10 and in a wider role. Two positions Buendia can also play.
It is expected that both could play together and rotate fluidly for greater output.
Furthermore his ability to both score goals and create chances from midfield is exactly what Arsenal need.
