Jadon Sancho admits he does not mind the transfer speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United.
The England winger is a top target at Old Trafford after rising to prominence in the past three seasons with Borussia Dortmund.
However, Dortmund insist that Sancho is staying with them next season. That’s because United failed to agree a deal with them before pre-season began.
The transfer rumours refuse to go away though, with Friday’s papers suggesting United are ready to go back in with offers to Dortmund and Sancho.
Now, in an interview with Soccer Bible, the 20-year-old has admitted that he is just focusing on what happens on the pitch.
Asked if he was tired of the rumours of a Premier League return, Sancho replied: “No, the media’s the media.
“They’re always going to try and create a story, but this is how you manage it.
“For me, I just focus on my football. I just want to do what’s best for my team and win titles at the end of the day.”
Sancho unfazed by transfer value
Man Utd have been unable to sign Sancho so far because of the financial implications. Dortmund value him at more than £100m, with United not willing to pay that entire fee up front in the current market.
Despite the pressure that could come with being worth so much, Sancho insists he doesn’t consider his price tag.
“I guess it’s a nice feeling to be worth so much, but again, I don’t really look at it that much.
“For me it’s about doing well for my team and doing well for myself as well.
“When I have a s**t game I’m just down. I feel s**t about myself. So I always like having a good game and showing people what I can do.
“I know what I can do, and if I play bad then I’m just p***ed off with myself. Next game I’ll try and improve on whatever I’ve done wrong.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Sancho was asked if he had any regrets about leaving Manchester City in 2017, but simply responded: “Not at all.”
