Premier League giants Arsenal have, on Monday, been afforded a much-needed double boost on the personnel front.
The opening weeks of the new campaign have of course proven altogether calamitous on the red half of North London.
Despite have splashed out considerably during the summer, Arteta’s men have thus far failed to rack up a solitary Premier League point, on the back of a trio of fixtures.
First came a 2-0 defeat at the hands of newly-promoted Brentford, before a similar result was forthcoming in a home meeting with capital rivals Chelsea.
And last up, last weekend, was a frankly embarrassing 5-0 drubbing at the hands of champions Manchester City.
Whilst such a string of results to open the campaign is of course inexcusable at any level, it must be noted that Arteta, in his defence, has already been forced to deal with a whole host of personnel issues.
Through a combination of injuries and Covid-19, the likes of Ben White, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Thomas Partey and Gabriel Magalhaes have all been forced to sit out key fixtures this season.
With the conclusion of the international break inching closer, and the Gunners set to return to action this weekend, though, at long last, some positive news has been forthcoming at the club.
This comes in the form of a long overdue double boost on the fitness front.
Most notably comes the return of star midfielder Thomas Partey, who is yet to feature for the club this season, to first-team training.
And joining the Ghanaian in his comeback, as per Arsenal insider Jeorge Bird, is hitman Eddie Nketiah.
Both players, in turn, could well be in line to mark their season bows on Saturday, when Mikel Arteta’s men welcome Norwich City to the Emirates, for a bottom of the table Premier League clash.
