The agent of RB Salzburg star Dominik Szoboszlai has confirmed that Arsenal are interested in signing the highly-rated attacking midfielder.
The 20-year-old joined Salzburg in 2018 from second tier outfit FC Liefering. He has since gone on to make 73 appearances and has been involved in a remarkable 54 goals in that time, as per TransferMarkt.
The Hungary international is considered to be one of European football’s brightest prospects. That status is expected to earn him a lucrative move over the next couple of transfer windows.
According to a recent report from Index (as cited by Sport Witness), Szoboszlai has emerged as major target for Gunners boss Mikel Arteta.
And that interest has been firmed up by the player’s agent, Matyas Esterhazy.
Index reports that according to Esterhazy, AC Milan were keen on his client. But they have since cooled their interest due to Arsenal jumping on board.
The report adds that Milan pose very little threat to the north London club getting their man.
Indeed, the Gunners have a clear path to Szoboszlai. January is considered the perfect time to strike before his value rises further.

Joe Willock and Nicolas Pepe scored but the Gunners were helped by two own goals. What’s more, both players missed further chances to add to their tallies.
As such, Arteta outlined after the game how his players must meet his higher expectations if they are to progress. Read more…
