Sunday provides NFL fans with a chance to see the two best quarterbacks in the league as Josh Allen (Bills) and Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs) go head-to-head. The last time the two young stars faced off, the Chiefs (2-2) ran out comfortable 38-24 winners in the AFC Conference Championship. But the NFL moves quickly, and the 3-1 Bills are the form team heading into Mahomes’ backyard this Sunday.
This one has all the hallmarks of an absolute classic. So, for a full betting preview and the latest odds broadcast at BetOnline, read on.

Chiefs vs Bills Preview
The Kansas City Chiefs are 2-2 and currently sit bottom of the AFC West. Things aren’t quite as bad as they look, however: the Chiefs have already faced three potential SuperBowl contenders, beating the Cleveland Browns, and losing narrowly to the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers. The Kansa defense needs to improve if Andy Reid’s team hopes to go deep in the playoffs again. But the offense continues to dazzle with Mahomes under center.
Last week was a return to form for Kansas. Against the Philadelphia Eagles, Mahomes threw for 278-yards and five TDs. WR Tyreek Hill posted 183-yards and three TDs, and sophomore RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire probably enjoyed the best game of his career-to-date as he ran for 102-yards (7.3 YPC) in a 42-30 win.
As great as things went for the Chiefs offense vs Eagles last weekend, there are still major question marks lingering over a defense that gave up almost 500-yards from scrimmage last week. The Chiefs cannot afford to do that against a more cutting-edge Bills’ offense.
Since losing their Week-1 opener vs the Pittsburgh Steelers, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills have been on an absolute tear in the AFC East. Sean McDermott’s team has now won three in a row, including two shutout victories vs the Miami Dolphins (35-0) and, in their most recent encounter, the Houston Texans (40-0) – the Bills defense has been electric, especially in coverage.
On the offensive side of the ball, Josh Allen has thrown 1,055-yards and nine TDs in four games played so far. The running back combination of Devin Singletary and Zack Moss is beginning to click into gear, and WR-trio Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley, and Emmanuel Sanders are proving to be tough to stop.
The key battle in this game is going to be how well the Chiefs receivers match up against possibly the best coverage unit in the NFL. Based on recent results, it’s impossible to think that the Chiefs D will be able to stop the Bills from scoring. So, the likes of WR Mecole Hardman and – if he’s ready – perhaps even Josh Gordon have to step up since the Bills will go all out to cut off supply to Mahomes’ main targets Tyreek Hill and TE Travis Kelce – it’s going to be a fascinating watch.
Chiefs vs Bills Injury News
The Chiefs don’t have too many concerns coming into this Sunday’s crucial encounter at the Arrowhead. Willie Gay is still on IR – the linebacker was expected to return to training on Tuesday but didn’t feature in practice and is still suffering the effects of an injured toe. Defensive stalwart DE Chris Jones is also questionable for the game. Besides that, Andy Reid’s team boasts a clean bill of health.
Over in Buffalo, it’s a similar story. The offense, besides long-term absentee WR Marquez Stevenson, is fit and firing. However, as with Kansas, there are a few causes for concern on defense: DE AJ Epenesa and LB Matt Milano are currently listed as questionable. And, there are potential issues in the secondary, too: CB Tre’Davious White (shoulder) and S Jordan Poyer (ankle) both face a race to get fit in time for the trip to Kansas.
NFL Betting Tips: Chiefs vs Bills
Looking at both defenses, it’s genuinely hard to understand how the Bills aren’t the favorites heading into this big match on Sunday night.
Oddsmakers might be taking the Chiefs on their home patch. But the value bet is on the stingy Bills as underdogs at +125.
Bills to upset the +125 odds is our NFL betting tip for the game.
