Jose Mourinho has revealed that Harry Kane is ready to feature in a ‘strong team’ as Tottenham prepare to face Everton in the FA Cup’s fifth round tomorrow.
Mourinho’s side travel to Merseyside to face Everton tomorrow evening in an all-Premier League clash at Goodison Park, both sides hoping to progress to the quarter-finals in their pursuit of a drought-breaking major trophy.
Spurs‘ chances have been boosted by the return of Harry Kane from injury, the England captain having scored in the weekend win over West Brom after making an ahead-of-schedule return from an ankle problem.
Mourinho has revealed that Kane came through that clash with ‘no problems’ and is line to feature tomorrow, insisting he will look to play a ‘strong team’ at Everton side as his side look to reach the last eight.
“No problems [with Harry Kane], at least no big problems,” Mourinho said at his pre-match press conference.
“We have to go player by player, to see their feelings and discuss with them and the best options.
“Of course we want to go with a strong team. but at the same time we don’t want to create problems in the future for the players.”
Mourinho also discussed the possibility of Kane playing alongside summer signing Carlos Vinicius, the latter having featured regularly in cup competition for the north Londoners this season following his arrival from Benfica.
Mourinho has so far appeared reluctant to play the duo together in attack but insists the forwards are capable of playing in partnership.
“Yes I think they can,” he said. “It’s not a situation that’s happening for different reasons but I think they can. They’re completely different players.”
