Footage of Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey finding the net in style for his country this evening has begun to turn heads online.

Midfield marvel

Gunners star Partey has of course endured something of a hit-and-miss opening to the new campaign.

After being forced to sit out the opening weeks due to the latest in a lengthy string of injury problems, the former Atletico Madrid man has since settled back into Mikel Arteta’s first-choice XI.

All told, Partey has been afforded starts in each of Arsenal’s last four outings across all competitions.

Thoroughly impressive displays were forthcoming versus the likes of Burnley and in the North London Derby versus Tottenham, though last time out, the 28-year-old was singled out for criticism owing to his performance in a 0-0 stalemate with Brighton.

On the whole, though, when fully fit and firing, Partey remains without question one of, if note the most dependable member of Arteta’s ranks at the Emirates.

Back amongst the goals

If there was one aspect of their midfield general’s game, however, which the Arsenal faithful were asked to single out as containing room for improvement, it would undoubtedly come in the form of his shooting.

Despite having now lined out for the club for just over a year, Partey is yet to open his account in Arsenal colours.

This has not come due to a lack of trying, though, with the African having built up something of a reputation for lining up, and subsequently making a hash of, long-range efforts on a near weekly basis.

As such, it will likely come as a source of frustration for the Gunners faithful to hear that, on Saturday, their generally wasteful star man found the net in style for his country.

Earlier this evening, Ghana welcomed Zimbabwe to the Cape Coast Sports Stadium, for a World Cup qualifying showdown.

The Black Stars ultimately emerged victorious from the clash, courtesy of a 3-1 final scoreline.

And Partey proved crucial on the day, putting his nation back in front 25 minutes from time, after winning the ball in midfield, cutting into the box, and slotting a pinpoint right-footed effort into the bottom corner:
