Head-turning comments on the part of Giorgio Chiellini, ahead of Italy’s showdown with England, have piqued widespread attentions this weekend.
A wonderful summer of European football is of course set to come to a head on Sunday.
On the back of a 4-week stretch packed with goals, drama, upsets and more, Italy and England will go head to head at Wembley, for the title of the continent’s finest international outfit.
The former are of course in the midst of a frankly staggering stretch of form, having not fallen to defeat in any of their last 33 fixtures across all competitions.
Roberto Mancini’s men also won each and every one of their 10 qualifying fixtures, along with six straight Euro 2020 outings to date.

Upcoming opponents England, though, will also head into the action in 24 hours’ time brimming with confidence.
The Three Lions have too enjoyed a fine summer, with the defensive strength boasted by Gareth Southgate’s side aptly highlighted by the fact that Mikkel Damsgaard’s stunning free-kick on Wednesday marked the first occasion on which Jordan Pickford has been beaten at Euro 2020.
‘Bench could win’
Another key factor in England’s march to the nation’s first-ever European Championship final, though, has of course been the strength in depth present in Southgate’s squad.
Whilst it could certainly be argued that more than one of the countries at this summer’s tournament boasted a stronger starting XI than the Three Lions, very few were able to call on the same level of talent off the bench.
And one individual who has evidently been hugely impressed by this particular aspect of the English squad is none other than Giorgio Chiellini.
Speaking to the media ahead of tomorrow’s Wembley showdown, Italy’s defensive stalwart was drawn on his side’s upcoming opponents.
And Chiellini went on to reveal his opinion that the reserve options available to Southgate this summer could themselves have made up a team capable of marching all the way to European glory:
‘Their bench alone could win the Euros. [Versus Denmark] they had Jack Grealish, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Phil Foden.’
