Man United hammer Newcastle
In case you were unaware as it has not been mentioned that much, Cristiano Ronaldo resigned for Manchester United over the summer and would make his second debut vs Newcastle on Saturday.
The Portuguese was thrust straight into the Red Devils’ starting line-up, playing alongside Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood in a front-three.
And it would not take long for CR7 to net his first goal back at Old Trafford, putting Man United in front in first-half injury time.
Javier Manquillo would pull Newcastle level after 56 minutes. However, Ronaldo then added a second shortly after the hour-mark, with Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard adding some gloss to the scoreline late on.
Morning, Reds 👋

Ronaldo’s Man United goals
With Ronaldo on their books, United now have one of the deadliest attacks in the Premier League.
Mason Greenwood, Jadon Sancho, Edinson Cavani, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Ronaldo himself are all competing for just three spots in United’s side.
And with such quality and depth, it is hard to argue that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should not be bringing home at least one trophy this season.
Silverware is also clearly on Ronaldo’s mind as, when speaking to French outlet Telefoot recently, he outlined his goals for his second stint at Man United, stating he wants to write history and help Man United have great results and win trophies:
“It was the best decision I made. It was the right moment: I want to write history, help Manchester have great results and win trophies”
