PSG chief sets out enticing package for Man Utd man, featuring crucial role played by Mbappe

Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo is already working on a deal to sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United, according to a report.

Reports last weekend claimed that new PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino has made the midfielder his top target for next summer’s transfer window.

The Daily Star Sunday said that Pochettino eyes Pogba as the ‘perfect’ player to rebuild his team around.

What’s more, the Frenchman is supposedly ‘desperate’ to leave Old Trafford and seek a new challenge.

As such, Todofichajes claims that PSG chief Leonardo has begun to outline a package for Pogba’s transfer to France.

The France international would become one of the best-paid players in the world with a lucrative salary.

In addition, he would replace Kylian Mbappe as the French champions’ icon representing his country at the Parc des Princes.

That is a role that PSG are expecting to become vacant at the end of the season, with Mbappe linked with a move to Real Madrid. Indeed, the 22-year-old’s contract runs out in 2022 and he has yet to take significant steps toward an extension.

Pogba, meanwhile, has recently shown flashes of his best form after a difficult last 12 months.

The 27-year-old admitted in November that he was going through one of the most difficult periods in his career. After picking up two foot injuries last season, he contracted coronavirus in August.

However, following his goal at West Ham that inspired United to a comeback win in December, he netted Wednesday’s winner as the Red Devils climbed to the top of the Premier League table.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said after the match that his team now are seeing the “best” of Pogba.
