Tottenham transfer news
In this article, we’ll cover all of today’s Tottenham transfer news.
Tottenham are interested in bringing in a defender this summer and one of the players on their list is Japanese International Takehiro Tomiyasu. The Bologna man has impressed as both a centre-half and right-back in Italy.
At 22, he still has many more years to improve and has supposedly impressed the club so far.
It was reported two days ago that Spurs were indeed the main club looking to bring him in.
Tottenham are currently the only English club negotiating to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu. Talks ongoing with Bologna – Atalanta want him too but Spurs are leading the race. 🇯🇵 #THFC

Maxence Lacroix info
Should Spurs be unsuccessful in signing Tomiyasu from Bologna, another player on their list is Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix.
Football.London’s Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold answered questions on the player and said the Frenchman is indeed one of the players new executive Fabio Paratici is looking at.
“Maxence Lacroix is one of a number of centre-backs Spurs and Fabio Paratici are looking closely at. The 21-year-old Frenchman has got pace on top of his defensive attributes, which is something Tottenham don’t have an abundance of in the centre of the backline.
Gareth Bale’s future
Spurs fans will be either pleased or disappointed to learn that Gareth Bale will not be returning to the club next season.
The Welsh international enjoyed a in different season in which there were spells of great form showing what he was truly capable of and harking back to the Bale of old. However, and typically under Jose Mourinho, he experienced long spells where he lacked consistency.
He reportedly let Spurs know ‘weeks ago’ that he would not be returning to north London.
Whether he will be part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans remains to be seen.
“Bale had fantastic world-class qualities and all that I was trying to do was help him understand his core strengths so he could fulfil his potential,” Ancelotti said.
“And by the way, I was more qualified than his agent or the president to help him with that. I told the president that I would speak with Bale myself the next day, which I did after training. I told him ‘I know that your agent spoke to the president. Why didn’t you come to speak with me about what you want?’. He said ‘Yes, OK, no problem.’”
Serge Aurier exit links
Ivorian international Serge Aurier looks like he could be leaving the club this summer with Italian side AC Milan the reported likely destination.
Since arriving from former French champions PSG, Aurier has struggled for consistent form and always looked vulnerable to the odd mistake which leads to a goal.
It seems Spurs are now hopeful of securing a right-back replacement alongside Matt Doherty. Nuno Espirito Santo will be familiar with the full-back considering he played under the Portuguese at Wolves.
Max Aarons has been linked with a move but now developments of late have come through.
