“Arrogance”, “Comedy gold” – Many Liverpool fans in uproar at “pointless article” on Klopp

Liverpool have been superb this season, of that there is no doubt.

The Reds are currently 22 points clear at the top of the Premier League, the highest such margin in the history of the top flight, whilst they are still unbeaten in the top tier as well. A title victory at the end of the campaign is now inevitable – this term, no-one has even come close.

Can you name the result these iconic Liverpool images belong to? Give it a go now…

Jurgen Klopp deserves a lot of credit for what he has done with this team. However, Manchester Evening News journalist Stuart Brennan sees it slightly differently. He says that Klopp has only started winning since he switched to Pep Guardiola’s more honest approach.

As you can imagine, this has the Reds supporters in uproar. Many have slammed the writer for his views.

It does seem to be an incredibly bizarre opinion to hold. Klopp has won by being at the top of his game – not by following what Guardiola has done in the past.

Some fans have taken particular offence to the amount of money spent.

Indeed, whilst Klopp has certainly spent big amounts of money on the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Alisson, Liverpool are miles behind in terms of net spend. In the last five years, they have parted with £107.77m after transfer sales have been deducted. Manchester City’s number, meanwhile, stands at £600.63m. It’s not even close.

Meanwhile, Liverpool fans slam this man’s joint XI.
