Everton’s Demarai Gray bizarrely offered a baguette after being substituted vs Burnley

Everton sweep aside Burnley

Everton continued their brilliant start to the season with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Burnley at Goodison Park last night. Although they found themselves 1-0 down shortly after half time, three Toffees goals in six minutes ensured that it was Rafa Benitez’s side that walked away with all three points, and remained unbeaten this Premier League campaign.

While it was undeniably this goal from Andros Townsend that stole the headlines, winger Demarai Gray had another brilliant outing, netting the third goal on the night, and his third of the season, with a calm finish.

It has been some start to the season for the former Leicester man, who returned to the Premier League this summer to little fanfare, and for the measly fee of just 1.7 million pounds from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.

However, he has proved crucial to Everton’s strong start to the season, and has already emerged as one of the bargain buys of the summer.

Bizarre moment as Gray handed baguette after being substituted

There was, however, a bizarre moment as Demarai Gray was substituted from proceedings. With just moments to go in the match, Gray was seemingly offered a baguette by one of the technical staff members as he trudged off the pitch.

We have certainly seen scenes of players being handed energy bars or drinks upon being subbed before, but handed a baguette?

Bizarre.
