Williams loan move off?
Brandon Williams looked set to join Ralph Hasenhuttl at Southampton this summer however a deal is now not looking too likely.
Journalist Alex Crook told TalkSport that the financial demands are too great for the south coast side.
“I told you last week that Brandon Williams was set to join Southampton on loan, I’m now being told that deal could be off due to United’s financial demands both in terms of his wages and the fact they want a very substantial loan fee from Southampton,” said Crook.
“The way it was put to me this morning was that if Southampton agreed to United’s demands, Williams would effectively become their highest paid player. They’re not willing to entertain that at the moment.”
With Ryan Bertrand having left at the end of his current deal, the Saints will be intent on finding a short or long-term replacement at left-back for the upcoming season.
