New Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno Espirito Santo has, on Friday, provided an altogether encouraging update on the future of Harry Kane.
Kane wants out
The bombshell news which Spurs fans across the globe were no doubt long dreading was of course finally forthcoming back in May.
This came in the form of widespread reports that star hitman Harry Kane had informed the club of his desire to move on this summer, in search of silverware.
The revelation, originally brought to the fore by Sky Sports News, was subsequently picked up on by a host of sources across the English media, amid the seemingly widespread understanding that Kane is indeed eyeing a new adventure.
#THFC are now making enquiries about replacement centre-forwards, in the first indication that the club are willing to consider the feelings of their 27-year-old talisman.

The weeks since, meanwhile, have inevitably seen a whole host of European giants tipped to swoop for the English international, chiefly Premier League champions Manchester City.
In fact, just weeks ago, word was forthcoming that the Sky Blues had tabled a big-money bid for Spurs’ star man:
Manchester City made an official proposal to Tottenham for Harry Kane. £100M guaranteed + availability to include players in the deal.#THFC have NO intention to accept. Harry wants to go, but Levy will try to keep him. ❌
Harry now focused on the Euros, then it’ll be decided.

‘No need to talk’
Such speculation, coupled with the embarrassment that proved the club’s lengthy search for a new manager, had no doubt left the majority of the Lilywhites’ faithful feeling altogether pessimistic when it comes to their side’s prospects for the season ahead.
As outlined above, though, on Friday, some long-awaited positive news has finally been forthcoming at Spurs.
This comes in the form of an update on the future of Harry Kane, provided by none other than the latest installation on the club’s bench.
Speaking to the media a short time ago, Nuno Espirito Santo was unsurprisingly drawn on the latest on his new attacking spearhead, with the Portuguese having been adamant that Kane, as things stand, will be going nowhere this summer:
‘Harry is our player. That’s period.’
‘No need to talk about anything else. Now is the moment for Harry to recover his energy, to rest and when he comes again we will have time to speak, to have good conversations.’
‘But now as I say, now is the moment for Harry to rest to prepare for what is coming. And what’s coming, I am looking forward to him joining the group and start working together.’
‘I am excited to work with all the players. Of course, Harry is a top player, one of the best in the world. So what is best is to work with the best around, and Harry is one of those.’
