Begovic on the verge of joining Toffees
Heading into the new season, a number two goalkeeper was always a priority on Merseyside. Jordan Pickford impressed at the European Championships, but his understudy Robin Olsen was only ever on loan from AS Roma, a loan which has since expired.
As such, an experienced pair of hands were needed to step into the breach if Pickford was ever sidelined.
Enter, Asmir Begovic.
According to widespread reports, the Bosnian shot-stopper has agreed to join Rafa Benitez’s side from AFC Bournemouth, having passed a medical on Saturday.
Asmir Begovic has completed his medical and has agreed to join Everton.
Asmir travelled to Merseyside on Friday and completed the last parts of his medical this afternoon.
The finishing touches to his deal are being finalised & should be completed within the next 24-48 hours.

To make matters sweeter, the goalkeeper is set to arrive at the club on a free transfer, as transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano confirms.
Talks progressing on a two-years contract for Begovic, now waiting for Benitez final decision on goalkeepers situation.

Now 34 years old, Begovic has made over 250 Premier League appearances and has kept 63 clean sheets in the process.
Meanwhile, there has been seemingly little progress for any deal for Euro 2020 star Denzel Dumfries, with SportsWitness still reporting that he will join the Toffees this summer.
🇳🇱| Denzel Dumfries will sign for Everton this summer. Inter Milan have cooled their interest as they look to sign Hector Bellerin instead.
