Report: Chelsea still keen to sign 25-year-old West Ham target – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Chelsea still remain interested in signing Adama Traore from Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer, according to reports from The Athletic.
The 25-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club this summer, and Chelsea are one of the clubs that have shown interest in signing him.
Earlier this month, it has been claimed that Liverpool have made a summer approach to sign the Spain international.
Traore can play anywhere in the attack but he is predominantly a right-winger. He has got devastating pace and has been used as a right-wing back as well.
Last week, Football Insider claimed that West Ham have joined the race to sign Traore this summer, and they have made an official enquiry about the player.
Wolves paid around £18m for the Spaniard back in 2018 and they would be looking to demand at least double the amount for him.
David Moyes is looking to improve his attacking options this summer, and Traore would be a smart signing for the Hammers.
The Athletic now claims that Chelsea still retain an interest in the winger, although it is not sure how Thomas Tuchel would use him.
Chelsea have the likes of Reece James and Cezar Azpilicueta who can play as a wing-back, while Callum Hudson-Odoi has been used in that role as well.
Also, the Blues have got plenty of attacking midfielders, and stockpiling in that department makes little sense when reinforcement is needed elsewhere.
Chelsea are looking to sign a striker this summer, and the Blues have been linked with players like Erling Haaland, Romelu Lukaku, Harry Kane and Danny Ings, to name a few.
