Manchester United talisman Cristiano Ronaldo has taken to social media on Friday evening, to send a message of encouragement to all associated with the club.
United will of course make their post-international break return to action in less than 24 hours’ time.
The Red Devils are set to make the trip to Vicarage Road, for a Premier League meeting with Claudio Ranieri’s Watford.
It is safe to say that, ahead of Saturday’s clash, the mood at Old Trafford is something of a sombre one, owing to an altogether underwhelming campaign to date.
On the back of a summer which saw the likes of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and the aforementioned Ronaldo make the move to the red half of Manchester, expectations amongst the club’s fanbase were, to put it lightly, through the roof.
The weeks and months since, however, have seen United stumble and stutter their way to 6th in the Premier League table, already a full nine points adrift of table-topping Chelsea.
Back-to-back home defeats at the hands of their two biggest rivals – Liverpool and Man City – certainly didn’t do much towards steadying the ship heading into the break, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, in turn, viewed as skating on the thinnest of ice.
‘Get the job done!’
As such, it goes without saying that all associated with the Reds could do with something of a lift this weekend.
And, as alluded to above, on Friday, Cristiano Ronaldo has begun efforts to rally the troops, ahead of a frankly must-win fixture at Vicarage Road.
Taking to social media a short time ago, the Portuguese icon sent a defiant message to his teammates and more, urging United to get their campaign back on track with immediate effect:
