A YOUNG mum has been killed in a horror crash, as her family pay tribute to a “loving” daughter and a man is arrested on dangerous driving charges.

Mia Wort, 18, was in the passenger seat of a blue Ford Focus that was involved in a collision with a black Audi in Bursledon on Saturday, around 1.20am.

Mia was rushed to hospital with critical injuries sustained in the head-on crash, and died soon after.

Her heartbroken family paid tribute to the teen, who they said was a “loving and caring daughter, sister and mother”.

“Words cannot express the heartache we all feel by having Mia taken away from us so suddenly and so unnecessarily,” they said.

“We watched with pride as she took her first steps as a new parent with her family by her side. She was looking forward to a long future with her daughter; this has now been taken away from her and leaves a void that can never be filled.

“As a family we will pull together to ensure that her memory never fades away and that her daughter will know her mother.”

A 36-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of a number of charges related to drunk and dangerous driving.

He has been released under investigation as enquiries continue, police have said,

Officers are appealing for witnesses, or anyone who may have information that can help their investigation, to get in contact.
