Southampton will be looking to pick up their first Premier League win since January when they take on Leeds United at Elland Road on Tuesday night.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have impressed in spells since earning promotion to the top-flight and look as if they will comfortably avoid relegation, although their home form has been inconsistent throughout the campaign.
Southampton ended a run of six straight Premier League defeats with a 1-1 draw against Chelsea last time out, which should hopefully give Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side a boost ahead of the trip to Yorkshire.
The Saints are struggling with a lot of injuries at the moment, which suggests that there won’t be too many changes from the side that faced Chelsea on Saturday, although it looks as if they could welcome back Stuart Armstrong after he missed out.
Here’s how Football FanCast expects Hasenhuttl to line his side up on Tuesday, with two changes from the side that started against Chelsea…
Alex McCarthy keeps his place in goal, with only Mason Mount’s penalty getting past the ‘keeper last time out.
There are no changes in defence, as Kyle Walker-Peters’ absence means that Jan Bednarek continues at right-back, whilst Mohammed Salisu has impressed in his recent performances, so he partners Jannik Vestergaard at centre-back.
There is one change in midfield, as Armstrong returns in place of Moussa Djenepo, despite the Malian’s impressive display last time out, as the former Celtic man offers much more of a goal threat than his young teammate.
Finally, Che Adams returns up front with Danny Ings, meaning that Nathan Redmond drops to the bench, and the former Birmingham City man will be hoping to end his drought at Elland Road, as the Saints have really missed his goals in their recent poor run of form.
And, in other news… Djenepo will be worried if Saints complete summer deal for £15m wonderkid
