Coronavirus UK LIVE: Dominic Cummings accused of breaking lockdown a SECOND time as death toll hits 36,675

BORIS Johnson’s chief adviser Dominic Cummings has been accused of flouting coronavirus lockdown rules for a second time after he was spotted at his family home in Durham on April 19.

It has been alleged the PM’s top aide was seen with his wife Mary Wakefield in Houghall Woods two weeks after he first visited there while suffering from coronavirus symptoms.

Witnesses say they were shocked when they saw Mr Cummings more than 250 miles away from London on April 19 despite the government telling Brits to remain at home.

One resident who walked past him claims Mr Cummings said: “Aren’t the bluebells lovely?”

Mr Cummings had been spotted in Downing Street on April 16 after recovering from the coronavirus.

Boris Johnson has faced heated calls to sack him.

This comes as deaths in the UK have increased to at least 36,675 after 282 more fatalities were recorded in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Brits breaching the lockdown over the May bank holiday weekend have been warned they could drag Britain back to “square one”.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock said those who continue to ignore restrictions this weekend risk forcing a return to restrictions as he pleaded with Brits to be sensible, despite the weather forecast.
