The Equalizer joins Blue Wire Podcasts

Growth is perennial, so we continue to look for ways to better serve you and grow coverage of women’s soccer. That’s why I am so excited to announce that The Equalizer has joined Blue Wire, the fast-growing sports podcast platform which includes shows from friends in the space including Burn It All Down, A Touch More with Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird, and Grant Wahl’s American Prodigy, just to name a few.

Through this new partnership, The Equalizer will have a wider network of support and more access to premium advertisers, allowing us to grow brand visibility and monetize the podcasts in ways we have not been able to previously. We remain the leading, independent media outlet for daily women’s soccer coverage of the United States national team, the National Women’s Soccer League and beyond — and we also now have a network of like-minded creators to collaborate with in the audio space.

Coupled with this news, I’m pumped to announce that Claire Watkins is now the weekly host of The Equalizer Podcast, which is our analysis-based, roundtable show. Claire has been writing for The Equalizer and participating on the podcast for several years now and is a great host who will give us consistency weekly while we continue to bring you analysis from our many contributors, just like we always have.

In addition, we are launching Season 2 of the Kickin’ Back podcast this week. Kickin’ Back is an interview-based podcast which brings you in-depth conversations with key figures throughout the sport, from players and coaches to administrators and broadcasters. Season 2 kicks off this week with a truly fun and informative conversation with NJ/NY Gotham FC star (she made a surprised face when I called her that during our recording) and United States Olympic hopeful Midge Purce. We have several other great guests lined up already, so subscribe at the links below!

If you missed Season 1, we brought you reflective conversations with Crystal Dunn and Becky Sauerbrunn, fun with Lynn Williams and Sam Mewis, insider tactics with Jill Ellis and Vlatko Andonovski, and big-picture questions with NWSL commissioner Lisa Baird. Go ahead and binge the archives to prep for Season 2.

Practically speaking, nothing will change on your end in terms of how to consume the podcast. It will still publish to all your favorite platforms, and subscribers to The Equalizer Extra will still get access to an ad-free version. On that note: If you’ve only just found us through one of our podcasts, I assure you that audio is just one part of what we do to comprehensively cover the game. Subscribe now to Extra and get professional, year-round, exemplary coverage of the sport for the monthly price of a cup of coffee. Click here to subscribe!

Below are links to access our podcasts on all the major platforms. Please rate and review us with those five stars and kind words. The more you do that, the more easily these shows can be discovered by others. We can’t wait to bring you more great content in 2021!
