Ralf Rangnick expected to become Manchester United boss

Following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s dismissal, Manchester United appear to have wasted little time in appointing an interim boss.

News broke on Thursday from the very reliable David Ornstein that Manchester United had reached an agreement with Ralf Rangnick to become their interim manager for the remainder of the season before then moving into a two-year consultancy role:


Rangnick is unlikely to be too well known by casual fans of the Premier League. But the German is a very demanding manager who is expected to be much, much more tactically focused than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He is also lauded for his pressing game, something Man United have certainly not been for several years now.

When will Rangnick’s first game in charge of Man United be?

So, when can Man United fans expected Rangnick to be in the dugout?

Well, as per Sport 1’s Patrick Berger, Rangnick is going to sign his United contract at the beginning of next week.

He is then set to be in charge of his first Man United game vs Arsenal on Thursday the 2nd of December:

The German gonna sign his contracts at the beginning of the new week (probably on Monday). He will be in charge first time for #MUFC versus Arsenal.
