Solskjaer gives Man United injury update ahead of Roma clash

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided an injury update on his Manchester United squad ahead of the club’s Europa League semi-final with Roma tomorrow.

United face the Italian side in the first leg of their last four encounter tomorrow evening, as both sides look to progress to a final meeting against either Arsenal or Villarreal.

Solskjaer’s side were eliminated at the semi-final stage of last season’s competition and will be hoping for a positive first leg result ahead of the return in Rome, with the Norwegian having provided a positive update on his squad ahead of tomorrow’s clash.

“There are so many games!” Solskjaer told his pre-match press conference.

“They’re all fit and available, we didn’t lose anyone from the last game, which was good. It was a hard-fought game of course against Leeds, high intensity. We’re ready and we’ve had good preparation for the rest of the season.

Solskjaer confirmed that both Eric Bailly and Marcus Rashford are fit to return to the side against Roma, the former having returned to the bench for the goalless draw with Leeds on Sunday after contracting coronavirus whilst on international duty.

Rashford has been struggling with a foot injury in recent weeks and has failed to complete 90 minutes since the win over West Ham in mid-March, though Solskjaer has confirmed the England international is available for selection tomorrow night.

“Both of them are available,” Solskjaer added. “That’s good.”
