Bissouma attracting interest
Yves Bissouma has so far notched 96 appearances across all competitions for Graham Potter’s Brighton.
The 24-year-old is confident with the ball at his feet, and more than capable of picking it up from deep to either take players on, or pick out the right pass to a teammate. Bissouma is also a progressive passer who generally avoids the sideways option.
And, at the other end of the pitch, the midfielder’s work rate and stamina allow him to get back and help out defensively.
As part of the current Brighton system, Bissouma is generally fielded as the more defensive-minded central midfield option, alongside the likes of Adam Lallana or Pascal Gross, and has long excelled in his role.
Such fine form for a fairly average side, though, has inevitably begun to pique the interest of superior clubs.
Recent reports have suggested that all of Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal are keeping a close eye on the Malian.
Liverpool not in for Bissouma
Now, though, it appears at least one of those clubs is not in the running for the Malian.
With Georginio Wijnaldum departing Anfield this summer, Jurgen Klopp and co. are likely going to have to dip into the market to find a replacement for the Dutchman, who has been a key cog in Liverpool’s recent resurgence as a top side.
And, on paper, Bissouma did look set to be a potentially solid replacement for the former Newcastle United man.
However, a recent report from The Athletic suggests that Liverpool will not be moving for Bissouma.
According to James Pearce, Yves Bissouma is not a target for Liverpool.
