Burnley offered chance to sign Tottenham-linked Weston McKennie

In one of the more bizarre stories of deadline day so far, Burnley are said to have been offered the chance to sign Weston McKennie of Juventus.

McKennie linked with Tottenham

After spending 2020/21 on loan at Juventus, the Italian giants would make a permanent move for Weston McKennie this past summer.

Juve are said to have paid around €18m to land the midfielder permanently.

Despite only signing for the club last year though, rumours spread earlier this month that the American is not in the plans of new boss, Massimiliano Allegri.

Then, reports from Italy suggested that Tottenham wanted to sign McKennie on loan, but Juve were not interested in this:

However, Sport Witness, citing Gazzetta Dello Sport and Corriere Dello Sport, then claimed on Monday that Tottenham were showing ‘concrete’ interest in McKennie, but need to convince the Italians into a loan deal.

McKennie to Burnley?

On deadline day, though, it is another Premier League side being linked with the 23-year-old.

As per Sky Sports News, Burnley have been offered the chance to sign the midfielder and it is believed that Sean Dyche’s side have made an offer to Juventus for him:
